"The only time we’re really writing as a whole – it’s not even really writing, it’s just jamming – is soundcheck. But while I’ve been home, I’ve been practising guitar more than I’ve been writing. I think there are ideas in my head and everyone’s heads, and we’re just waiting for some breathing space when we can really get into all of our ideas and share them with each other. But I do think that you can write on the road, there’s a lot of down time. It’s not always the most creatively inspiring. You’re tired, and you’ve been in the van all day, and you go into a green room… you could in theory record in that moment but the vibe isn’t really there. It was nice on the bus during our US tour, we set up a little studio in the back and we played music. That was really fun"
